Halloween weekend.... Royal Blood and Vevo party!!

We got tickets for Royal Blood at Leadmill a couple of months back, as it was on Halloween we booked a hotel and thought we'd make a night of it. Earlier in the week the band posted on their social media for fans to dress up as skeletons. We didn't fancy dressing up this year though and I was already in a rush from getting the train straight after work so didn't have time for facepaint etc. As usual we were running behind schedule and arrived 10 minutes after the band had started. They played longer than we expected though and we got to see 50 minutes of the set. The duo were both dressed as skeletons, as were a lot of the crowd, but we weren't the only ones not in the halloween spirit so we didn't stand out too much. Leadmill had gone all out on the decorations with bloody body parts in bags hanging from the ceiling, aswell as other ghostly decorations.

It was the third time I'd seen the band but the first headline show I'd been to and I'm so glad I got to see them at such an intimate venue as im sure they're only going to get bigger. It's hard to believe there's only two of them as they can sure make a lot of noise, the live set sounded just like the record. The crowd were lively and the set was great with them doing the majority of songs from their debut. I'm hoping they'll play Glastonbury as I can't wait to see them again.

It ended quite early as the club night was starting straight after, the nice bouncer gave us a stamp so we could come back later. We headed to division street for a few pitchers and cocktails, by the time we headed back to leadmill we were rather merry. The drinks were so cheap that we ended up rather drunk, it's always a good night in there and the music was fab as always so we danced the night away. Before we knew it it was closing time, we made friends with a group from Barnsley and ended up going to the casino and didn't get in till 6.30am, sensible as always!!

The next day Alice was heading off to manchester for a vevo Halloween party, her friend couldn't make it so there was a spare ticket so I decided to go with her (didn't take much persuading). We were shattered from the night before so our plans to have a wander round the shops didn't turn out. We did manage to drag ourselves round Primark though. I'd been after the lime green coat I'd seen on Instagram a while back but hadn't found it yet so was super happy when I saw it and there was only one left in my size. I was quite poor as I hadn't planned on two nights so couldn't splurge as much as I'd of liked. I did manage to pick up a fab lime wool/crochet top for only £5 aswell as some Barbie and Clueless pjs for only £3 each in the sale. I also couldn't resist the most amazing pink Care Bears pjs, they're a winter must have with the fluffy top, it's so cosy and warm (I'm a big kid).

We managed to drag ourselves to one of our favourite places 'Home Sweet Home' to refuel before the night out. We had 'winner winner chicken dinner' a combo of fries, steak, buttermilk chicken, slaw and peppercorn and bbq sauces. It's such an amazing meal, they do the best cakes and milkshakes there too but we were too full from the meal.

We headed back to our friends for a quick change then headed to victoria warehouse for the event. It was super busy when we arrived and we were later than planned (shocker). Labrinth was already playing but we managed to catch half of his set. We'd won tickets to last years vevo halloween party which was in a small venue in London but they'd really upped their game and gone all out this year. The venue was perfect for Halloween with it being a creepy warehouse, it was decorated amazingly. The theme was zombies and survivors, with a maze where zombies would jump out and grab you. It was made to look like the place was under quarantine with people operating on bloody corpses and people in overalls with extinguishers spraying smoke at everyone. It was actually quite scary, again we didn't dress up but the majority of people had.

Next up was Rixton, I only knew one song of theirs but the crowd were all singing along and they were actually really good live. I do love a boyband anyway and the songs were really catchy. Unfortunately Sam Smith had to pull out due to illness, which was quite guttering as we'd been looking forward to seeing him.

We had been really excited to see Ella Eyre too though and she certainly didn't disappoint and more than made up for Sam's absence. She looked amazing in her pvc catsuit with tassels, cat ears and spooky contact lenses. She really puts everything into her live set, running around with so much energy, and hats off to her in the outfit, it was boiling! Her vocals were on point and she sounded fab.

After that Gorgon city played to a slightly smaller crowd as it seemed people had started to leave at this point. They did however get the crowd going and a few guests came on including Yasmin. Towards the end of the set we decided to leave and get a taxi before the mad rush. We headed to one of our favourite bars for a few cocktails, but the night before seemed to be catching up with us and we were struggling (getting too old). We had a couple more drinks but decided we'd call it a night and not go on to a club, it was gone 2am so I think we did pretty well considering.

The next day we had a well deserved lie in then decided we'd go and treat ourselves to another fab meal before we left. Id been wanting to try 'Almost Famous' for ages so we finally went. We went for the 'Butter Blood and Bleu' burger and 'Bacon Bacon fries' they came out and the burger was huge. We definitely could've shared the fries and possibly even the burger, eyes bigger than our belly as usual. I couldn't manage it all and reluctantly had to leave a lot of it, it was so yummy though and I definitely want to go back and get a milkshake or sundae next time as they sounded fab.

I was absolutely useless all weekend and as we was rushing around so much I didn't get to take any outfit photos. I tried to recreate the outfits to take photos but the weather was not on my side and these winter nights made it impossible to take any decent photos. I managed to get a couple of ok shots in my new coat though. I'm so glad to finally have it in my life the colour is amazing and the wool blend texture is really nice. I wore it with my tartan trousers, grey polo neck crop top and cut out boots. It will definitely feature in upcoming blogposts (with better pictures) as I adore it and it's such a statement piece.
