Vintage Weigh & Pay Haul!!!

So a few months ago I went to the first 'Vintage Weigh & Pay' kilo sale in Derby, I got so many fab things so was really excited when I saw they were coming back for another. They only started doing the sales this year but the stock is all such great quality and isn't just the stuff that people don't want, like kilo sales can sometimes be. It is £1.50 entry or £3 for early bird for entry an hour earlier, which is quite reasonable.

We went for the earlybird again as it was super busy last time and we wanted to avoid the queues. It wasn't quite as busy as last time and there weren't as many rails of stock but it seemed less hectic and was easier to browse with it being a bit quieter. It soon did pick up though and get really busy but we'd pretty much finished browsing by that point anyway. They put out stock hourly so the rails are constantly being refreshed so it's worth sticking around or popping back later in the day. It's £15 a kilo and they have heavier items such as coats at a set price of £15 which is really great. I got a couple of kilos worth of stuff then went back a couple of hours later after a wander in town and got another kilo of items. All together I got just over 3 kilos which cost me £48, I got 14 items which works out at less than £3.50 an item, absolute bargain! So here's a run down of all of the items I picked up, I know we're going into winter and some of the stuff is quite summery but I can't resist bright colours and it's good to be prepared for next summer right?!

First up I got this amazing silk dress, I love the mustard shade and polka dot print. As it's silk it is very thin so quite summery, but I think I can easily make it work for autumn with some ankle boots tights and a leather jacket.

Next is this amazing stripe halterneck mini dress, I love the colours in the stripe, it kind of reminds me of a Motel rocks style dress. Again I think I can make this work for any season.

When I was at Leeds festival I completely ruined my vintage sequin skirt as I put a hole right through it so I'd been on the hunt for a replacement. I saw this black sequin wiggle dress and thought I could potentially cut it to make a skirt or keep it as it is as it's quite short anyway, then I could wear it as a dress or a skirt, so for now I'm going to leave it as a dress, 2 for the price of 1!

I tried to stay away from the jackets and coats as I have far too many, but on my second browse I spotted this beauty on the rail. After trying it on I couldn't put it back, I loved the fit and the print is so nice with a bit of a mermaid vibe with what looks like the starfish in the print. I also love the glittery thread through it and the quilted style.

I also have so many printed novelty shirts so tried to avoid picking too many of them up but I can't refuse an amazing print, especially if it has a mermaid vibe! This chiffon shirt with underwater/fish print all over it is just too fab! The colours are amazing and I love the loose shape and longer length.

I spotted this abstract print shirt on the mannequin and had to ask to take it off, the colours are all my faves so I allowed one more shirt purchase!

Next up this fab floral print two piece, it consists of an oversized top and culottes. The top is a bit oversized and long for me if I want to wear it as a set, so I think I'll maybe shorten it to make it more cropped. They will also look great as seperates too, I love the colours in the print.

I also got these fab culottes in a watercolour style print in lots of shades of blue, they come with a matching belt and are a nice wide legged style.

Another item I spotted on a mannequin were these great spotty print trousers. They are one of my favourite style trousers as they are high waisted with a looser shape on the hips which is a great shape for my body, as I have a smaller waist and bigger hips/bum so they're much more flattering for me and to my joy they fit me perfectly!

I often find with vintage skirts they're either too small or way too big but I did rather well with them on this occasion and picked up 4 that all fit perfectly. The first being this yellow polka dot number, it kinda reminds me of a clown outfit but strangley I'm feeling that vibe, clowns are bright and sassy after all!

The next skirt I got was this nautical printed midi, I'm a sucker for any sort of nautical/chain print so absolutely loved this and I love the anchors in the print.

Following on with the nautical style I picked up this shorter one that has compasses in the print, I adore the colours and the cute detail buttons down the front.

Finally another skirt, another print, more of a chain/baroque style this time with this bright bodycon tube skirt.

I absolutely love all my items and am so impressed at how much stuff I got for such a great price. They have lots more events coming up over the next couple of months, so if you like yourself a bit of vintage and local to any I'd definitely recommend checking one out grabbing some bargains!!
