Summer Vibing!!!

Summer is officially on it's way so it's warmer days and more skin on show. I got these fab vintage shorts from Cow vintage last summer, they're great for summer days. They're also a great holiday/festival short, with their fun Aztec print. I also got this fab top from Cow in a neon pink, I think it's actually swimwear as its in the swimwear/Lycra material but doubles up as a great top. It could be mixed and matched with some bikini bottoms though. I love the zip detail to the front and the racer back. Although we have had some warm days it's not quite warm enough to ditch the jacket completely so I teamed them with a turquoise blazer. I love being matchy matchy so went for pink socks and turquoise sandals. I accessorised with my holographic backpack, giraffe print sunglasses and palm tree earrings. I love this outfit it's so fun and summery, I can't wait to start wearing more of my summer wardrobe, let's hope we actually get a proper summer!!

I'm loving.... Polette eyewear!!!

So recently I received my new glasses from Polette eyewear. I'd been after a new pair for a while as I do love my Raybans but fancied a rounder shape, so thought it would be nice to mix it up with two frames. I was lucky enough to choose a frame from Polette for them to send to me. I did think about getting sunglasses as I'm obssessed with them and they had so many amazing styles, but I do have sooo many pairs so thought I'd go for a frame adjusted to my eyesight so I can get alot more wear out of them. They have so many gorgeous and unique frames and they are all so reasonably priced with a frame to suit every face shape and whatever style you're after, from classic to trendy to vintage. It actually took me over a week to decide, im the worst decision maker ever!! It was tempting to go for a cateye shape as I also love that shape but was worried they may not suit me as I couldn't try on the frame. So I played it fairly safe and went for a large round tortoiseshell frame called 'Islamabad'.

Delivery did take quite a long time as they come from overseas, it says 10-20 days for the uk but it did take over a month. I'm not sure if it's usually this long or if it was just my package that got held up somewhere. So if you do need these quickly or if they're your first frame you would need to bare this in mind. Saying that when they did arrive I was very pleased and they were certainly worth the wait. The frame is so light, at first I felt the lenses were a little large for my face but after a few days i soon got used to them and haven't took them off. I like that they have a vintage feel and actually remind me of the pair my mum used to wear when I'd run around in hers as a child bumping into things, I'm now just as blind as she is!

I'm rather blind so will be wearing these pretty much all the time unless I wear contact lenses. I'm sure they will feature in many future blogposts but here's an outfit from the other day when I had them on. I wore my floaty vintage cullotte shorts with a knitted lilac crop top with matching lilac tights. It's officially ok to wear sandals now, even though I do wear them rain or shine anyway, so I wore my pastel patent sandals. I accessoried with a cute pink satchel and a couple of chokers.

Gigs Galore!!!

So the last couple of weeks I've been to a few gigs, I wanted to blog them all individually but I've been rubbish at getting outfit photos or any decent pictures at the gigs unfortunately. So I will give a brief rundown of the gigs I've been to, with a pic if I have one. Firstly there was 'Wolf Alice' at Leadmill in Sheffield, I'd only seen them once before at Leeds festival so it was nice to see them headlining for a longer set and they were fab! The week after that it was 'Catfish and the Bottlemen' at O2 Academy in Sheffield. We'd been trying to get tickets for months and actually ended up getting scammed for tickets through Twitter a couple of days before (don't trust anybody!!) we were gutted, more so that we wanted to go than the money. Luckily we managed to get last minute tickets and still attend. It was my fourth time seeing them and they didn't disappoint, they are definitely in my top fave bands now and lead singer Van is an amazing frontman and a hilarious character.

Then it was 'Sleeping With Sirens VS Pierce The Veil' for their joint world tour at Rock City in Nottingham. I'm a bigger fan of Sleeping With Sirens and Kellin Quinn's voice makes me melt, so as expected I loved their set, but Pierce The Veil were also fab and the atmosphere was electric throughout.

So then it leads me to my most recent gig and the final gig I actually had planned untill festival season begins (cry) but it was a good one!! The beautiful James Bay, his debut album came out a couple of weeks ago and it's amazing. He seems to be going from strength to strength selling out tour after tour. I was lucky I got in quick with tickets a few months back and got them for Christmas for myself and Alice. It was at the Albert Hall in manchester, I'd never been to the venue before but it was stunning, like an old church. It had a balcony above but you could go in the balcony or standing area below, unlike other venues where it's either/or. To say we rocked up 5 minutes before he came on (shock) we managed to get a pretty good view. He looked fab as usual with his signature hat on, it was really good to hear the tracks live now there's actually an album out as when I saw him last time he only had eps. He did an hour and 10 minute set which is refreshing as a lot of artists tend to do shorter sets when they only have one album. His vocals were so on point and he's just so dreamy to listen to. I'm pretty sure he's going to be dominating the festival circuit this summer and I certainly can't wait to see him live again. If you haven't seen him I'd definitely recommend getting tickets for his autumn tour (if it's not sold out yet) or catching him at a festival this summer.

So it was warm all week so I actually planned ahead and picked an outfit. Typical English weather though there was hail and rain in Manchester on Saturday. I still went ahead with my chosen outfit but just threw on my longline blazer so I didn't freeze. I wore this black crochet top with beading detail with a lace bandue underneath teamed with black leather look shorts. I wore big hoop earrings, a couple of chokers, my chunky platform boots and my tassel backpack for a bit of added detail. As it's all black everything I thought I'd make it a little more exciting with a statement hairstyle. I've been doing a 'Bunhawk' quite a bit the last few weeks and really like it, I wasn't sure it suited me at first but ive really got used to it and feel I can let my inner ghetto/Rhianna out with this style!

I've got my sassy pants on!!!!

I've been rubbish at blogging this last week or so but have been finding it hard to fit it all in, but I'm back and hoping to keep my posts as regular as possible. The sun has been out all week and it's made me super happy, even though I've been working most of it. I love summer so much and dressing for the warmer months is so much more fun. I love wearing bright colours but it's harder to do so in the colder months so my blog posts are going to be getting much more colourful as we start seeing more of the sunshine.

So this outfit reminded me of one of my favourite bloggers vintage online store 'Sassy World' the colours and prints are so bold and summery. The blouse is from cow vintage, it's a cropped oversized shirt with tie waist detail and a gorgeous watercolour effect print. I like the loose fit and with a purple bandeue underneath I really like the look. I teamed it with some of my favourite trousers my bright green, high waisted harem pants, that came with this fab chunky belt. Keeping with the bright theme I went for my holographic YRU platforms aka my spice girls shoes. I got them last summer, but they are a little big for me so I've only worn them a couple of times. I definitely want to try get more wear out of them this summer. I'm obssessed with my palm tree necklace and earrings at the minute so these were a no brainer for this look. I finished it off with my lime leather envelope bag and my Carmen cateye sunglasses.
